Bluebird – A poem by Charles Bukowski

There’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I’m not going
to let anybody see
you.

there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I pour whiskey on him and inhale
cigarette smoke
and the whores and the bartenders
and the grocery clerks
never know that
he’s
in there.

there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say,
stay down, do you want to mess
me up?
you want to screw up the
works?
you want to blow my book sales in
Europe?

there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody’s asleep.
I say, I know that you’re there,
so don’t be
sad.
then I put him back,
but he’s singing a little
in there, I haven’t quite let him
die
and we sleep together like
that
with our
secret pact
and it’s nice enough to
make a man
weep, but I don’t
weep, do
you?

Goodbye David

Goodbye David

Look up here, I’m in Heaven!

I’ve got scars that can’t be seen

I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen,

Everybody knows me now

Look up here, man, I’m in danger!

I’ve got nothing left to lose

I’m so high, it makes my brain whirl

Dropped my cellphone down below

Ain’t that just like me?!

By the time I got to New York

I was living like a king

Then I used up all my money

I was looking for your ass

This way or no way

You know I’ll be free

Just like that bluebird

Now, ain’t that just like me?

Oh, I’ll be free

Just like that bluebird

Oh, I’ll be free

Ain’t that just like me?

Goodbye David you will be missed

Beeping bars explained

Beeping bars

On 23 September 2013 at 14:45, YouTube user Webdriver Torso quietly uploaded a video. Now there are over 80,000 videos. Each of the videos has nearly the same format, cycling through 10 “slides” (numbered 0000-0009) over the course of 11 seconds. Each slide displays two rectangles: one blue and one red. In each successive slide, the rectangles change shape and position. New videos are still being posted.

Beeping bars explained

What’s the story behind the beeping bars? Is this a way to communicate with aliens, secret government agencies at work with a new kind of number station or just a guy/girl with doing art stuff?

In the video below a solid explanation is given.
