You are marvellous

your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are  marvellous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

Charles Bukowski; The Laughing Heart

Original track by Dexter Britain

You don’t fit in everywhere and you don’t have to

You don't fit

If you have to fight off negative people daily
find yourself kicking dead horses all the time
are the motivator of the  unmotivated, the eternal
go-to person and feel like you just can’t be yourself
Let your guard down and be yourself
Then it’s time to radically change the scenery
Adopting new habits takes time and it’s an
illusion to think you’ll just act differently”to make an
impossible for your environment to work
You don’t fit in everywhere, and you don’t have to

An Irish Airman Foresees His Death by W.B. Yeats

An Irish Airman Foresees His Death

by W.B. Yeats

I know that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate
Those that I guard I do not love;
My country is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan’s poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public man, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.

Bluebird – A poem by Charles Bukowski

There’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I’m not going
to let anybody see
you.

there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I pour whiskey on him and inhale
cigarette smoke
and the whores and the bartenders
and the grocery clerks
never know that
he’s
in there.

there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say,
stay down, do you want to mess
me up?
you want to screw up the
works?
you want to blow my book sales in
Europe?

there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody’s asleep.
I say, I know that you’re there,
so don’t be
sad.
then I put him back,
but he’s singing a little
in there, I haven’t quite let him
die
and we sleep together like
that
with our
secret pact
and it’s nice enough to
make a man
weep, but I don’t
weep, do
you?

Quantum Mechanics

Quantum Mechanics

Knowledge loses relevance when stories are not told
And creativity cannot exist without freedom
School had failed me and I have failed school
I wanted to learn what I wanted to know, but they wanted me to learn for the exam
I felt my thirst for knowledge was being strangled by teachers grades were their only measurement
How can a teacher understand youth with such a system?
I began to suspect authority and distrust teachers
Because narrow minds devoid of imagination
Intolerance
Theories cut off from reality

What is happiness?

So what is well being? When do you really feel well in your life? When you truly feel well, when you’re really happy, you’re well. Even if you’re physically ill, your still well. Even when you’re medically diagnosed ass ill you could be happy right now. You’re feeling well isn’t it to fundamentally. Well-being means a certain level of joyfulness. Everybody’s been happy but the problem is that we are not able to maintain it, that’s all.  Isn’t everybody’s been happy in the last 24 hours? How many moments have joy have you known? Maybe you can count them on your fingers. Many people have nothing to count.  Continue reading
